Remembering Board Member Eric Williams

The Garden Grove Community Foundation honors the life and service of Board Member Eric Williams, who passed away unexpectedly in October. Eric joined the Foundation in 2015 and quickly became an active member of the Summer Concert Committee. For nearly 10 years, his insight and enthusiasm helped bring musical performances that families throughout Garden Grove could enjoy. In addition to his planning efforts, Eric often served as an emcee and delighted young concertgoers with his balloon creations.

Since 2021, he served as the Foundation secretary, representing the voice of West Garden Grove and offering thoughtful guidance that helped ensure the Foundation stayed true to its mission and vision. Beyond his service to the Foundation, Eric’s dedication to the community was evident through his involvement in his church and his commitment to making Garden Grove a better place for all.

Eric is deeply missed by his fellow Board Members, colleagues, and the many residents whose lives he touched through his kindness, generosity, and community spirit. The Garden Grove Community Foundation extends its heartfelt condolences and prayers to the Williams family.

In 2023, the Garden Grove Community Foundation celebrated 25 years of service to the Garden Grove Community! The mission of the GGCF is to contribute leadership and resources to enhance community life in Garden Grove.

In 1998, members of the Garden Grove City Council, community, and business leaders came together with a common goal: to create an organization that would enhance the quality of life for Garden Grove residents and businesses. Out of their efforts came the Garden Grove Community Foundation (GGCF). Founded as a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, the Foundation helped to create a better image of Garden Grove, regionally, showcasing this community's unique features, its diversity, and economic progress.
